Structure
We are beholden to some rules of nature, which are: we all see the world in a vertically, horizontally and diagonally designed orientation.

Inspiration came from simply looking around the studio, noticing a chair sitting in a corner and a flower arrangement on a table. Note the structure; this painting shows us strong vertical, horizontal, and dramatic diagonal eye movements.
Letting the Painting Lead
Such joy comes from the shock of recognition, knowing that you are on a path that will lead to a satisfying ending. Allowing the painting to tell you what it needs is the secret to keeping the subject "fresh," surprising not only the artist but also the viewer.
