Structure means giving the viewer the feeling the painting is vertically secure,

horizontally secure, intriguing the viewer’s eyes to examine the entire surface

diagonally to the corners and sending them out to the outer edges of the painting.

The viewer will stay with the painting, investigating the surface over and over again.
