Inspiration came from simply looking around the studio, noticing a chair sitting in a corner and a flower arrangement on a table. Note the STRUCTURE; this painting shows us a strong vertical, horizontal, and dramatic diagonal eye movements.
Such JOY comes from the shock of recognition knowing that you are on a path that will lead to a satisfying ending. Allowing the painting to tell you what it needs is the secret to keeping the subject “fresh” surprising not only the artist but also the viewer.
